As New Zealand gets closer to the election, the government wheels slow down. However, for individuals, companies and BioTech New Zealand, this is definitely not the case. This is a summary of what we have been up to.
For those who missed reading about our new Ambassadors, we have started working with each of the cohorts. We will keep you updated on some of the great work they are doing.
We have launched our Engineering Biology Working Group. The group will focus on raising the sector’s profile, building an ecosystem of companies, people and infrastructure, coordinating activity across organisations, and providing a unified voice for Engineering Biology in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The group is chaired by Alec Foster, Bioproducts Portfolio Lead at the Bioeconomy Science Institute, with Ipshita Mandal-Johnson, Director of Mandal-Johnson Ltd, as Co-Chair.
On 16 September, we had our Annual Meeting and welcomed our new members to the Executive Council: Jacquie Palmer, Managing Director, Harvest Integrated Research Organisation and Nic Cameron, Head of AgriTech & BioTech, Bank of New Zealand.
